ICPAS Clarity Bulletin 2 – A Practical Approach to the Clarified Singapore Standards on AuditingPublished on - Tuesday, June 5th, 2012
In January 2011, following the introduction of the clarified Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSAs), ICPAS published the well-received ICPAS Clarity Bulletin highlighting salient changes of selected clarified SSAs which would impact the audits of financial statements.
The Institute is pleased to release ICPAS Clarity Bulletin 2 which goes a step further to provide practical guidance to auditors when applying and implementing selected clarified SSAs. It serves to highlight some of the challenges faced by auditors in the application of the new or revised requirements in the clarified SSAs and offers suggestions on how auditors may deal with them. Audit professionals will find the guidance very useful and are strongly encouraged to read this.
While this publication has been prepared with the auditing professionals in mind, it serves only as a reference for the user and should not be used as a substitute for reading the clarified SSAs. This publication is not meant to be exhaustive and reference to the clarified SSAs should always be made. In conducting an audit in accordance with clarified SSAs, the auditor is required to comply with all the clarified SSAs that are relevant to the engagement.
